Safari
Our first love.
You will never forget your first car. Safari, now in Tiffany hues, represents the start of our current affairs. He symbolises timelessness and abiding love. His the constant in an everchanging world. Oh and he’s the star of HBO’s ‘Serangoon Road’ and the icon in National Heritage Board’s 2016 festival and the icon in our company logo. He’s also been the brand ambassador for Heineken, SingTel, Seven Friday to name a few.
Safari has one front-facing row in the passenger cabin that can comfortably seat 4 while 1 more can join the drive in the front cabin. His super spacious passenger cabin is perfect for the bride with a train meant for the longest aisle. This photo of him shows him wearing a festive mask which has since come off.
All Kombi Rocks vehicles will be lovingly escorted by our appointed driver. Refitted with air-conditioning where possible and refurbished to meet modern standards, our fleet is ideal as your bridal carriage and brand ambassador. Our fleet is maintained regularly for the utmost quality one can expect from fanatic motorheads. We hope you will cherish them as much as we do and treat them with care. Thank you for joining us in the rescue and preservation of the historic vehicles of Singapore.
Safari is our first Kombi and the one we spent the longest time and efforts in restoring, before Kombi became so popular. He went through the full bare metal works so that every inch of him was renewed from his beaten-up state he was in. He was our wedding car and a few of our dearest friends’ too. He has helped forge many marriages and continues to take pride in being the “something vintage” at weddings.
Angbao
Angbao is LOUD.
His black and red coat makes him stand out amongst the fanciest crowd and commands serious attention from one and all. .
Angbao the only split window Kombi with a large sunroof and a total of 21 windows (count them!). Thus, he is perfect for a tour of our island as he offers a panoramic view that is only surpassed by convertible vehicles with their tops down. With the sunroof opened, you can stand in the back cabin and wave at all your guests to make a grand entrance. He’s the perfect companion for a bride as he provides a stark contrast to the lady in white and escorts her in grand style.
Angbao has two face-to-face rows in the passenger cabin that can comfortably seat 5 while 1 more can join the drive in the front cabin. He’s so good-looking that he doesn’t need much adornment for special events. A set of ribbons will usually suffice.

Rescued in 2011 from his former owner who had wanted to export him overseas, 1961 Angbao has since been improved several times. He’s the fourth Kombi we acquired. In order to buy Angbao, we had to let go of one of our Kombi to a dear friend.
TT
TT in dove-blue makes people swirl and dance about him.
Well, at least they’d imagine doing so due to the whimsical fantasy he evokes in all romantics.
He’s such a darling to be around and is definitely the “something blue” you can and should have for your wedding.
TT is the one and only split-windscreen Camper model in Singapore. 1966 TT is shy but he’s one all-round photogenic handsome fella. He has woody interiors and bears face-to-face rows in the passenger cabin that can comfortably seat 5 while 1 more can join the driver in the front cabin. For a wedding, TT can come decked with ribbons and rustic flowers with the 8-hour package.

We’re entrusted as TT’s foster parents since 2013. He is named TT in remembrance of his former owner.
Smiley
Sun-kissed joyfulness is the hallmark of Smiley.
Bright and cheerful too, time with Smiley is never a dull moment. He’s a down-to-earth, trusty Split-window that seeks to please.
He bears two front-facing rows in the passenger cabin that can comfortably seat 6 while 1 more can join the driver in the front cabin. For a wedding, Smiley can come decked with ribbons and rustic flowers with the 8-hour package. Smiley belongs to our buddy and resides across the causeway.

Sandy
Purity.
Sandy in white-beige …
He bears one front-facing row in the passenger cabin that can comfortably seat 4 while 1 more can join the driver in the front cabin. Sandy was our 2nd Kombi purchase and is now in the care of a trusted friend who became a friend after he hired Safari for his wedding. He is very treasured and only available for weddings.

Popup
A barnfind.
A project shell that never got finished until we took over in 2012. It was a rare splitwindow panel model – commercial Kombi that can never be registered on Singapore’s road again as it’s a commercial vehicle. The former owner had wanted to convert it from a panel to passenger but we reverted it to the original as VW intended.
Inspired by the Bangkok scene, we remodelled this into a POPUP vehicle with promise of Foodtruck, promotional and multi usage…
Under construction.
Goldie
Double-door Goldie was built by Volkswagen in 1972 with sliding doors on both sides, making him a rare and very-sought model.
Bearing two rows of front-facing seats, Goldie lets you see right through him, when both doors are opened that is. He’s the ultimate utility vehicle and the brand ambassador for the no.1 cider in Singapore – Somersby cider in 2016, bringing doses of sparkling happiness to many.

Goldie was our sixth Kombi purchase in November 2013, from his first owner of 40 years. From his beaten-up state and original paint coat, we had restored him to a hue of gold to reflect the champion that he is.
Sugar Baby
Every bit a darling.
Sugar Baby is the sweetest Kombi yet. She has seen the most weddings and never fails to make great pictures with the entourage. The youngest Kombi we have, 1973 Sugar comes with two face-to-face rows in the passenger cabin that can comfortably seat 6 while 1 more can join the driver in the front cabin. She’s also the face of our first Kombi Photo-Booth – an instant photobooth built into the back of a Kombi.

Sugar was our third Kombi purchase and was converted to classic scheme due to the high COE cost.
coming soon…
A facelift and a new identity is ongoing for Cloudy.
He will soon be unveiled. Stay tuned.
Junior Popup
Rescued in 2016, thanks to a buddy.
Added to our fleet in time for the food truck trendiness that had caught on. Junior is a baywindow kombi that a Thai restaurant had imported and refurbished to be placed in a restaurant as the cooking station. In rather bad shape, we will slate him for a restoration in time. Meanwhile, please help us raise the funds by hiring him for your events!
This is a vehicular prop that does not drive. It will be towed into place by Kombi Rocks, ready for your use as a promotional vehicle, food truck or photo kiosk.
Junior Popup forms the sixth purchase of the VW Kombi we love so much.
Charlotte
The oval beetle with sunroof.
Beckham
Beckham is a 1970 VW Fastback that’s original as the day he was born.
He’s VW’s improvement to the Beetle in expanding the legroom, storage space and speed.

Time-Travelling
Time-travelling with 1966 Triumph Spitfire MkII
1962 Chevy Impala
A rare barn find of an American-made muscle car on our shores. Think MAFIA because that’s the era where he belonged.
Tailor-made right-hand-drive in the Chevy factory and shipped to a Chinese magnate in 1962, this Chevy survived the test of time thanks to being in storage since 1980 to 2014. It is a MIRACLE he was not scraped! He’s a precious one of his kind left in S’pore!
Kombi Rocks rescued him in 2014 when the caretaker had run out of space for him. He was a featured car at Orchard Central that year, flanking Orchard Road – a fresh breath of air and under limelight.
Then we went on to resuscitate him: got him roadworthy again after a long gruelling process with the authority, bought a matching SP license plate for him (the original one could not be reinstated due to prevailing laws), and overhauled many jammed parts…
The interiors are immaculately well-preserved, thankfully, as many accessories would be hard to find. The patina of the exteriors make us swoon. No expense is spared in his restoration, and more works are in-stored for him to improve the mechanical performance and appearance.
Stay tuned for the rest of his story. If you want to find out how you can support his restoration, speak with us!
Outside of restoration time, "Chevy" now leads a life as a swanky bridal car, a photogenic model, and superstar at events. See him sunbathing occasionally outside Kombi Rocks Diner, when he’s not in his safe and sheltered hideout.
